Basic tools
I’m using an Acer laptop , and started this blog with a fresh installation of LinuxMint 17
Here are the basic tools which I’ve installed since (and this list may grow):
- Keepass 2 – for password management. Too many passwords to remember them all especially if, like me, you use random/long/secure passwords. Installed via the software manager, found as “keepass2”
- Google Chrome – my main web browser. I use other browsers for browser testing. Downloaded from https://www.google.com/chrome/browser/index.html, version: “64 bit .deb (For Debian/Ubuntu)”. After downloading the .deb file, double click on it and follow the instructions
- Sublime Text – my main coding editor. Amazingly powerful. From http://www.sublimetext.com/. Installation instructions at http://sublime-text-unofficial-documentation.readthedocs.org/en/sublime-text-2/getting_started/install.html#linux
